Girls Incorporated of Chattanooga Programs

Girls Incorporated® of Chattanooga has been providing vital after school, intercession, and summer programs since 1961. We partner with local public and private organizations to offer research-based activities that are age appropriate, gender specific, and relevant to the issues girls face every day.

Our core programs teach girls to make positive lifestyle choices with health and sexuality, sports and adventure, and life skills activities. Girls learn self-reliance and leadership skills, explore their culture and heritage, and learn to deal with conflicts in school and at home.

Our summer career academies and school-break camps provide fun, working introductions to careers, such as business, science, law, and journalism by providing leadership and community service training as well as exposure to professional women mentors.

Our vigorous advocacy programs, such as I.M.P.A.C.T., a youth-led media campaign dedicated to raising awareness about the problem of infant mortality in Tennessee, and our annual Unbought and Unbossed Awards put girls in charge by teaching them to actively address women’s issues in their homes, neighborhoods, and larger communities.

Girls Incorporated of Chattanooga offers informal education programs that encourage all girls to take risks, make healthy lifestyle choices, strive for academic excellence, and change their world in outspoken and active ways.
